They And We

They are out there, and they are what they are.

They are they.

Therefore, we are not they. We are we.

We are we until we want to be they.

We become they until we eat each other and succumb to the will of they, who, it turns out, were once we.

We hate they because we hate we. We are they and they are ... us.

Us and them.

We must defeat they and they defeat we. So we are us. They are them.

We who are us want them to become ... this.

And this isn't good.

Or this.

the best poem about zombies I have ever read.

I'm going to rectie this to wasted freinds to twist their melon a bit.

this is some weird shit my cousin and i came up with sitting on my grandma's swing late one night.

gaz - thanks.

dan - i think your quote is true, and it plays a part in what i think the concept is (wow, "concept" makes it sound like something i spent any substantial time and mental energy on).

but you're only one of them if there is an us out to get you, right?

spo - zombies, hunh? in a way, i suppose that's true in a metaphorical sense. but who are the zombies? we/they/us/them/this? or the guys who came up with this? ;)

john - exactly. it's all about power, isn't it? that's our failing, no matter where our politics or social classes fall. there are always a them. it's just a matter of whether it's the masses usurping the elite or the elite suppressing the masses.

rusty - yeah, i like that. i think i get it. the degree of the absence of plenty is quite plentiful.
